Germs

On my morning walk today, about a half mile from home,  I greeted a neighbor – a fellow walker whom I see frequently as we enjoy the cool weather and beautiful scenery of our town.

Gesturing to her lower face with her fingertips, she asked “are you wearing that because you’re compromised?”

“No”, I explained, “but my wife is. She’s a cancer survivor and has a heart condition, so I don’t want to risk taking something home to her even if I remain asymptomatic.”

“Oh, I can see that.”

Talking from opposite sides of the street we chatted about new neighbors and the silly prices of real estate – and our good fortune in living here for so long.

When we parted I began to wonder: should I have taken the opportunity to share my mask-wearing motivation in greater detail? Might a knowledge of The Truth protected her from harm? If she continued to not wear a mask and died as a result, would her blood be on my hands? (Ezekiel 33)

Perhaps I need to clarify.

Science is just a godless liberal plot to enable the enslavement of the human race by having the gullible believe plausible-sounding ideas which take the focus off of the creator and sustainer of all life. When humans stop submitting to god’s laws, when they stop living by the ancient wisdom embodied in the simple phrase “His Will be done”, all manner of bad things happen.

For example, when America began to tolerate the gays – AIDS appeared. Just one example.

But back to science. Science is just a liberal religion. The “germ theory of disease” is a hoax.

Diseases are caused by evil spirits. Sometimes those evil spirits ride on mosquitoes and spread malaria. Other times they travel on the wind and enter loose women, provoking them to perform lascivious acts which ensnare innocent but disobedient men. (Thank god for the example of Mike Pence!)

Our current situation with COVID-19 is another example. It may have originated in China, but its author is god. He has a plan. His plan often involves Mysterious Ways, but they are discernible by those who have ears to hear.

Although god allowed slavery in olden times, he noticed that some people had carried it a bit too far so he inspired the Abolitionists to end it. Unfortunately “germs” (seeds) of hatred had been sown and many folks continued mistreating each other. Over time this became normalized as those seeds became institutions. 

Clever politicians claimed that the abundance of some Americans was a result of god’s blessing. But god saw that, often, that was just a means of fooling the less well off into working harder while the abundance was reserved for those at the top. God began to get impatient, not getting enough of a say in how things were done. (He was still angry over the Reformation, but that’s another story.)

God inspired many devout people to make changes. There were many missteps but progress was made. And god saw that progress was being made and it was good. So he tested us. He raised up a dark-skinned President . (Romans 13).

Many whom god had supposed were repentant for the sins of their fathers rebelled against god and opposed His anointed. So god anointed him again. And still they rebelled.

So god decided test their hearts. He sent among them many possible leaders who claimed to follow god. But the people instead chose The Golden Calf. He made no pretense of giving glory to god. He mocked the weak. (Matthew 6) Still people followed him.

So god released evil spirits from China. They traveled east and west on their way to America. The Watchmen blew the trumpets of warning. (Ezekiel 33) But the Golden Calf boasted that it was nothing to be alarmed about and claimed it would just go away.

God was wroth. He sent more evil spirits.

The evil spirits enter the body at will, and the people dance around the Golden Calf as though his words can protect them.

I wear a holy mask which has been blessed in spiritual ways. The evil spirits can’t get in because of the strength of the blessing on the mask.

Perhaps if I’d shared this with my neighbor…?
